The Colonel Light Gardens Football Club prides itself on providing a fun and safe environment for children to participate in Australian Rules Football. We are fortunate to have a first class coaching panel that has playing and coaching experience at AFL and SANFL levels. Together with the hard working support team, we aim to ensure each child can develop the essential skills, approach and attitude that foster a love for the game!

Junior Registration Information

We are now welcoming registrations from all junior players wanting to be part of the Mighty Lions Junior Football Program in 2022.

Age Competitions for 2022
For the 2022 season the Lions are offering the following age groups in the SANFL Junior competitions. The SANFL Age Group Policy for players eligible for each age level is detailed below.

Players that turn 6 years of age during 2022 are required as per the SANFL Juniors Policy to
participate in our Auskick Program which commences in Term 2 – information and registration
details on this to follow.

Auskick caters for ages 5 -12 years. Therefore, to participate in the Under 7 competition – a player must turn 7 years during this calendar year.

** Girls team age groups have a date range over two years. In addition, girls may choose to play in the Mixed Teams competition up to and including Under 12’s.

*Sports Vouchers: A State Government Program for South Australian Primary School aged children, the value of the voucher $100 per child for Primary School children R – Year 9. In 2022 they are available to all children who will be aged 6-15.There is still one voucher per child per calendar year and this is available for redemption during the registration process. Click the “I have a Government Voucher” hyperlink and you will be asked to fill in your Medicare Number.

Under 7 Registrations: There is no alternate sibling fee for players registering for the Under 7 team. All new Under 7 players registering for the first time will receive as part of their registration payment a CLGFC Hoodie. Orders for these will be taken prior to the commencement of the season with all parent/caregivers notified.

Proof of Age Documents: New players to CLGFC (including all Under 7 players) are required by the SANFL to provide Proof of Age documents. A condition for 1st time registrants is this document provides the players’ full name and Date of Birth. It can be :

  • Birth or Baptism Certificates
  • Passport or Student Photo ID Cards
  • A certified Legal Document providing Proof of Age
  • A letter from the School Principal confirming age/DOB

This is to be forwarded at the time of registration to the Club

New Registration Process

For 2022 the SANFL has moved it Registration to PlayHQ. It a new platform that is being consistently added to and will ultimately make administrating simpler. So whilst the process is similar and even simpler – there are a few pointers listed below that may assist.

To register, go to Register | PlayHQ or search the PlayHQ page and search for Colonel Light Gardens Football Club.

Registering is for all players, volunteer team officials and team managers. Coaches are required to register via CoachAFL website and will receive information about this from the AFL in the next few weeks

All non-playing positions will require that you have a Working With Children Check completed and approved before registering. To obtain a WWCC Screening Unit – Applications – It’s a two-minute process.

As this is new platform everyone must create an account. IMPORTANT make sure that when you create your account its in your name NOT YOUR CHILDS, so fill out your details.

With your account created you are able to register a player, volunteer or team manager. Each person can only be registered individually. All account and registered players information etc will be retained for future years.

Claim Profile: During the process, to enable all previous player information to link with this years registration, you will be asked to ‘Claim a Profile’. This will check first/last names, DOB and gender with information from previous years regos.

If these details are correct and you HAVE NOT changed your email address it will be Claimed successfully.

If you are using another email address and all other listed details above are the same AND you have access to this previous email address, click verify the email and a Code will be sent to your old email address to enter and Claim the Profile.

If you DO NOT HAVE ACCESS to the previous (2021 Registration) address ie; its from an earlier place of employment or you have changed your email address simply click Contact Support at bottom of this page and it will be rectified by a PLayHQ staff member.

Once the registrants (player, volunteer or team manager) profile has been claimed/linked continue through to the Payment section.

Payments: All Club and SANFL payments are to be made in full at the time of registration. If you are experiencing financial issues – we want you and your child/ren to remain part of the Club. Please contact Peter Callaghan or Sandra Greenan to discuss and we will work out a payment solution. This will be treated as strictly confidential.

Sports Vouchers are available to be claimed during the registration process by clicking ‘I have a Government Voucher’. The State Government Voucher is $100 for all school children up to Year 9.

Our extremely popular and award winning Auskick program runs during Term 2 every Sunday at 9am.

Club and Team News and Updates

During the season you will receive communications from the Club, junior committee, coaches and team managers via our Team App link and through the Colonel Light Gardens Footbal Club Facebook page. If you are new to the Club please click this link CLGFC or details will be provided on to become a member of Team App by relevant Team Managers well before the season commences.

We will also be posting information on our newly established Junior Lions Facebook page. This page is a closed group available to parents and carers of junior registered players providing up-to-date Club news for the season.
